The Buffalo Bills are 3-0, but getting there certainly wasn’t pretty.
On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Joe from Queens to react to Buffalo’s wild 24-16 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, a game in which the Bills somehow overcame five turnovers, 10 penalties and a minus-four turnover differential—and still managed to cover the spread.
Patrick and Joe debate whether Bills fans should be more encouraged by Buffalo finding a way to win despite playing poorly or more concerned about the self-inflicted mistakes that could be devastating against a better opponent.
James Cook was once again a difference-maker, rushing for 154 yards and helping carry an offense that struggled to protect Josh Allen and consistently move the football through the air. The guys discuss Cook’s emergence as one of the NFL’s top running backs and how important it is that Buffalo can now win games without requiring superhero performances from Allen.
Defensively, Greg Rousseau continues his dominant start to the season, recording two more sacks and establishing himself as one of Buffalo’s biggest early-season difference-makers. C.J. Gardner-Johnson also delivers his first major impact performance as a Bill, while several under-the-radar contributors earn praise.
