On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran goes over five of the biggest questions that Buffalo Bills general manager (and President of Operations) Brandon Beane is going to have answer soon as he starts to construct the roster for 2026 under recently promoted first-time head coach Joe Brady.
The Bills have been a perennial contender in the AFC since 2019, reaching two conference championship games during that span. But continuing to hit the “proverbial playoff wall” that owner Terry Pegula discussed led to the firing of longtime head coach Sean McDermott and while it hasn’t been publicly stated, puts enormous pressure on Beane to make moves this offseason that’s going to help them get over the hump because with McDermott gone, failure will (rightfully) fall squarely on Beane going forward.
To that point Patrick comes up with five questions that Beane’s surely asking himself right now and getting ready to make tough decisions on. Among them is if there’s truly a place on the 2026 roster for Keon Coleman that is anything but a negative, who among the offensive line depth is ready to step up and become starters with the probability that at least one if not two incumbent starters will leave for free agency, does Brady lean on Beane to pull of a trade for an alpha WR No. 1 and did Dawson Knox play himself into another year with the club?
Switching over to the defense, the Bills have a slew of pending free agents. Between the defense’s struggles in Denver, a bunch of guys aging and a new defensive coordinator surely looking to come and change things up, how many of these Bills veterans will be back this season? That and plenty more.
