On this bonus weekend episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is going over his biggest takeaways after watching the game back on film from the Buffalo Bills 31-21 Week three victory over the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium on Thursday night football.

Sticking with the usual format for the season, Patrick drops all his big takeaways after pouring over the stats, watching back some of the film and perhaps most importantly, sleeping on it to have new perspective the next day as opposed to the instant live reaction shows that immediately follow the game.

Obviously there’s plenty to like and Patrick points out a lot of things including Josh Allen’s ability to not turn the ball over almost being taken for granted, James Cook continuing to emerge as a star, the offensive line shining yet again and a defense that stunk for a lot of the game but as they usually do, turn up when they absolutely need to and get a game-impacting takeaway.

3-0 is nice and clearly that’s what matters most, but it’s not all love from Patrick with what he saw Thursday night. He talks about a defense that couldn’t get off the field on third down, a defensive line that minus rookie Deone Walker was almost a complete no show, a wide receiving group that’s not getting any long plays down the field and perhaps some unrealistic expectations fans and media have on the team that’ll make a 10 point victory over a division rival feel less than stellar.  That and plenty more today—happy weekend!

The Talking Buffalo online merch store is now live! You can purchase t shirts, hoodies, zip ups, crewnecks and polos in a couple of different styles and colors. Visit our online page for pricing and options and while there, check out Buf on Weck for tons of cool gear!

Major props to Talking Buffalo sponsor, Sonny Red’s at 1841 Abbott Road in Lackawanna, just minutes from Highmark Stadium. We consider them THE most underrated spot for wings, pizza and other great food in Western New York plus it’s a great place to drink and have a great time. Also big thanks to Imperial Pizza and their two locations (1035 Abbott Road and 1655 Main Street), home of not only great pizza and tons of other delicious eats but also the best everyday lunch special in town.
